Friday night, I was lucky to be able to get out of town with a great friend and head to Asheville for the Lucero concert.
The songs from Women & Work sound great live and it was a great, almost 2 hour, set.
It was my first time going to the Orange Peel, and I’ll certainly make that drive again the next time a band I adore is playing there on a weekend night instead of playing the Triangle.
Thankfully, it’d won’t be long til the next Lucero show. They are playing the Cradle on 6/20.
J Roddy Walston & The Business opened and it was a joy to see them play to the crowd at Orange Peel. Happily, there were more people than I expected who were singing along to their songs and many more people who were wooed by their infectious live show.
Friday night was one of their last nights opening for Lucero. Now, they are on their own headlining tour. And, since the universe loves me, they are playing Kings tonight. Two J Roddy shows in 4 days will be a treat for me, and I hope to see y’all all there.
