There are many signs that summer is wrapping up: school buses on my morning commute, college towns again ceding portions of the town to undergrads, NFL preseason on TV, and college football just around the corner, etc. However, the most wonderful and tasty sign that summer is fading into fall could be found at the farmers’ market this weekend – muscadines and scuppernongs.
The season ushers in with strawberries and out with these grapes.
