It’s on the way to the Welcome Back Diner

This weekend marked the one year anniversary of my move to Durham. For the past year, the song that has been lingering in my head the most, the default song stuck in my head, has been Red Collar’s “Welcome Home.”
This year has been stunning. I have no regrets about leaving Durham for Baltimore when I did, or about the 4 years I spent in Baltimore. In many ways, most too personal to talk about in this format, I needed to leave Durham to come into my self, to reallly figure out who I wanted to be, what I wanted from my life and my community.
And in moving back to Durham I have been able to find the community, the friendships, the work, the life where I make sense.
Welcome home, indeed!
